Navigating Institutional Pluralism and Indigenous Rights: The Sámi–Forestry Company Conflict and Its Implications for Multinational Finance and ESG Risk Description:This repository contains datasets and an executable Jupyter notebook (SAMI.ipynb) used to analyze CO2 emissions and forestry sector dynamics relevant to Sweden and the broader European context. The data primarily derives from the Emissions Database for Global Atmospheric Research (EDGAR) and related official energy statistics. The analysis explores the potential benefits of integrating Sámi Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) with modern forestry practices to promote sustainable forest management and address climate change risks. Included files: CO2.xlsx: Annual fossil CO2 emissions data for countries worldwide (1970–2021). EDGARv7.0_FT2021_fossil_CO2_booklet_2022.xlsx: Detailed emissions and land-use data. SAMI.ipynb: Jupyter notebook containing data processing, visualization, and cluster analysis scripts producing key charts. Figures 1–6 (PNG): Visual outputs illustrating emission trends, comparative analyses, regional aggregations, clustering results, and COVID-19 impacts. How to Use This Data and Notebook in Google Colab Open Google Colab:Visit https://colab.research.google.com. Upload the data files: Click on the folder icon on the left sidebar. Click the upload icon and upload CO2.xlsx (and any other data files you want to use). Upload the notebook file: In the Colab file browser, click "Upload" and upload SAMI.ipynb. Alternatively, open SAMI.ipynb directly from your local system by choosing File > Upload notebook. Run the notebook: With the notebook open, run all cells in sequence. The notebook reads the uploaded data files, processes the data, and generates charts illustrating CO2 emission trends, regional comparisons, clustering, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on emissions. Using %run magic command:If you prefer, you can upload the notebook and data files to your Colab environment and then run all code cells by calling: python Copiar %run SAMI.ipynb This command executes the notebook script and produces the visual outputs automatically.
