Hydrogen gas is hypothesized to play a role in plants coping with stresses, by regulating signal transduction and gene expression. In this experiment, transcriptome of alfalfa seedling roots under Cd and/or hydrogen-rich water treatment were analyzed. For RNA extraction, 5-day-old seedlings were pretreated with or without 10% HRW for 12 h with or without another 12 h Cd stress. After various treatments, the seedling roots were harvest. For each treatment group, one mixed sample form three replicate experiments was used for RNA extraction, and further cDNA library construction. The cDNA library was sequenced on the Illumina sequencing platform (HiSeqTM 2500) and 51 bp single-end reads were generated.
