VPRS 15746 Minutes, State Film Centre Council

This series was created by the State Film Centre (VA 2325). It contains a complete master set of confirmed and signed minutes of meetings of the State Film Centre of Victoria Council. In accordance with the legislative requirements, minutes were created to document summary details of the proceedings and general administrative activities discussed at meetings of the Council. This series records in summary form deliberations, resolutions and decisions and related to a wide range of activities for which the Council was responsible.The Victorian Documentary Film Council was abolished by the State Film Centre of Victoria Council Act 1983 (No. 9943). The State Film Centre of Victoria Council was established by the same Act. In 1997, the Cinemedia Corporation (VA 4117) became the successor in law to the Council.The contents of this series comprised minutes of all meetings of the State Film Centre of Victoria Council and includes minutes of the first ten meetings of the Board of Management of the Cinemedia Corporation (refer to VPRS 15740 for a complete set of the Cinemedia's Board minutes). The Board of Management of Cinemedia Corporation commenced meetings prior to Cinemedia becoming a legal entity in 1997.
