Renal cortex scRNAseq in mice with high phosphate diet

Several mechanisms underlying phosphate overload-related renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis have been identified. While excess phosphate can be harmful to the kidney, phosphate is also an essential nutrient for the body. Thus, kidneys exposed to phosphate burden may experience protective benefits rather than simply being injured. However, such a mechanism remains unknown. The aim of the present study is to identify the changes in the kidneys caused by phosphate overload.
