A set of gypsum composites with four different types of cigarette butt morphologies were developed to evaluate its acoustic properties. Another set of four different types of surface finishes was developed to assess the acoustic absorption coefficient. The results show that the residue must be placed vertically on the surface to achieve similar values to materials considered acoustic absorbers.
