Transcriptome sequencing of sex hormone treated chicken wattles

To investigate how estrogen influences the phenotype of hormone-sensitive wattle tissue in chickens, a transcriptome sequencing experiment was conducted. Specifically, starting at 2 weeks of age, roosters were intramuscularly injected with beta-estradiol at a dose of 5 mg/kg body weight every three days until 6 weeks of age. After slaughter, wattle tissues were collected from three groups: control roosters, control hens, and beta-estradiol-treated roosters (n=3 per group) for transcriptome sequencing.
