Genetic variants of a benthic fish are associated with reduced pH levels at a natural volcanic CO2 vent

Genotyped individuals of the common triplefin fish inhabiting CO2 vents at White Island, New Zealand, did not reveal any genetic population substructure. However, we found significant outlier loci associated to reduced pH levels that matched functional annotations of genes playing diverse biological processes.
