MAPCor: Moroccan Arabic Plurals Corpus

MAPCor (Moroccan Arabic Plurals Corpus) is a corpus of 3,708 singular–plural pairs of Moroccan Arabic (Darija) nouns and adjectives. Each pair is given in IPA and in Arabic script and is annotated with an English gloss, the patterns of the singular and the plural, the plural type (sound -at, sound -in, sound -a, broken, or both), the part of speech, and the grammatical gender of the singular. Version 2.0.0 combines version 1 (1,166 noun pairs from the Darija Open Dataset, DODa) with nouns and adjectives extracted from Harrell’s (1966) A Dictionary of Moroccan Arabic. Dictionary items were checked against Atlaset (AtlasIA 2025), a large collection of contemporary Moroccan Arabic text, and forms no longer in use were removed.
