These files concern the closure of beneficiary trusts set up for the families of workers disabled through silicosis. Subsequent to the death of the worker, compensation was either continued on a weekly basis or as a lump sum. The files usually contain the documentation leading up to the payment of compensation and certificates attesting that death was due to silicosis.
