Infrastructure readiness for autonomous vehicle technology in Thailand

Qualitative research was done with data gathered by interviews with 17 samples in two groups divided into categories: those experienced in education and development of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV) in Thailand, and those experienced in driving autonomous vehicles. The goal was to assess infrastructure readiness to support autonomous vehicles in Thailand and formulate recommendations for government agencies, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to help integrate autonomous vehicles into the national transportation system. Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and CAV technology are currently expanding, potentially altering how transportation systems operate. Studying foundational infrastructure needed to support autonomous vehicles in Thailand is essential to facilitate national participation in technology use for safer, more efficient transportation and travel. These findings should provide information to help develop policies and strategies, while possibly inspiring future projects and network development.
