资源简介:
Shear wave velocity (VS) of soils and rock is a mechanical property that can be measured in situ through invasive (e.g., seismic cone penetration testing or suspension logging) or noninvasive techniques (e.g., surface wave testing). These data are often used in the development and application of earthquake site response models (e.g., to estimate the time-averaged VS in the upper 30 m (VS30) and to develop profiles for ground response analyses). We have compiled 175 VS profiles across the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region of California from 23 different sources and provide metadata such as their location, testing method, surficial geology, topographic slope, and terrain class. We also provide information about the site condition (i.e., whether through a levee or in a free-field environment) and the peat thickness encountered at the site (obtained from nearby boreholes or cone penetration testing). Both layer-based (e.g., surface wave testing) and point-based data (e.g., suspension logging) are reported in the format provided by the original source documents. These data are also accessible in the Shear Wave Velocity Profile DataBase (VSPDB; www.vspdb.org) (Ahdi et al. 2018; Kwak et al. 2021). In addition to the tabulated data (Delta_Vs_Compilation.csv), we also provide a graphical user interface (GUI) for users to view the profile data (Profile-Viewer-GUI.ipynb).
