资源简介:
We studied drought effects on ecosystem functioning in a semiarid grass-shrub steppe South of Argentina. We designed a 2-year rainfall manipulation experiment where we decreased water input with rainout shelters during two consecutive years, which included 3 levels of rainfall interception (30%, 55%, and 80%) and control. We estimated drought effects on volumetric and gravimetric soil water content, on litter decomposition of a dominant grass, and on inorganic nitrogen content and N mineralization process. We also measured drought effects on leaf elongation and tiller production of a dominant grass, leaf water potential of grasses and shrubs, and drought effects on percent canopy cover. This data was collected between May 1999 and May 2001 in field expeditions to Rio Mayo experimental site, Chubut, Argentina. This data was obtained for project CRN12, which has Dr. Osvaldo E. Sala as PI.We studied drought effects on ecosystem functioning in a semiarid grass-shrub steppe South of Argentina.
