THE ROLE OF SUFISM IN PROMOTING RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE

This article analyzes the role and significance of Sufism in strengthening religious tolerance. It explores how the core principles of Sufi teachings—such as compassion, humanism, patience, self-restraint, and enduring love—contribute to fostering peace, harmony, and social cohesion within society. Particular attention is given to the intellec tual and moral contributions of prominent Sufi scholars to the development of interreligious tolerance. The study demonstrates that Sufism, as a spiritual and ethical system, serves as an effective mechanism for preventing religious conflict and promoting mutual respect among followers of diverse faith traditions.
