Global database of long-term experimental yields in organic, diversified and conventional agricultural systems

This repository provides a global, harmonized database compiling medium- to long-term experimental yield data comparing organic, diversified and conventional agricultural systems. The dataset includes 322 experimental units derived from 102 peer-reviewed studies conducted at 73 experimental sites across 23 countries and six continents. For each experimental unit, annual yield data and associated metadata are provided, including crop species, management system, experimental site, and key agronomic practices. The database was constructed by merging five previously published datasets and updating them through a systematic literature review conducted in 2025. Data extraction was performed from tables, figures and main text of the original articles, and annual yield values were digitized when necessary. Quality control procedures and consistency checks were applied to ensure data reliability. This dataset is intended to support meta-analyses, model calibration, and comparative assessments of yield levels and yield stability across agricultural management systems. The dataset is released under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY 4.0) license.
