Genetic mechanisms of local adaptation are still largely unknown. Our work addressed this question by investigating the genetic architecture of zinc tolerance, as a major trait involved in local adaptation to metal-polluted environments, in Arabidopsis halleri. We assumed that QTLs of local adaptation could be detected in a non-metallicolous x metallicolous F2 progeny.
