McElmo Black-on-white, bird effigy bowl, Accession AZRU-00001, Catalog #806, Morris FS 4665. Analyzed by Lori Reed 2006. Temper is identified as granular igneous and sand suggesting production at Aztec. Effigy is 90% complete, but missing the head. A small section at the front of the effigy is a reconstruction with unknown plaster material. Measurements: 7.4 cm maximum orifice diameter, 4 cm height. Recovered from Earl Morris excavation of Kiva S, Aztec West Ruin. Kiva S is briefly mentioned in Morris (1924) in reference to a burial, but otherwise there is no published description of Kiva S.
