Value of private equity (PE) deals in Europe from 2006 to 2023

In Europe, deals involving private equity (PE) investments, that is, investment funds that were not listed on a public exchange, amounted to nearly 300 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. As the graph shows, PE investment deals in Europe peaked in 2021, when deal value exceeded 580 billion U.S. dollars.
