In this work, we analyze the empirical power losses and the power distribution with angle when an indoor base station serves indoor users, emulating the operation of an IEEE 802.11ad high-speed wireless LAN at 60 GHz. To this end, we performed a measurement campaign in an office environment, with and without pedestrian movement in the vicinity of the wireless terminals. We observed that useful lobes exist even in obstructed links, allowing the use of angular combiners or beamformers to increase link availability and data rate. Our results are relevant for the proper calibration of PHY or network simulators by including propagation constraints, and to validate the results of theoretical studies.
本研究针对室内基站为室内用户提供服务时的实测功率损耗与随角度变化的功率分布展开分析,模拟了运行在60GHz频段的IEEE 802.11ad高速无线局域网的工作场景。为此,我们在办公环境中开展了系列测量实验,分别设置了无线终端附近存在行人移动与无行人移动两种实验工况。研究观测到,即使在存在遮挡的通信链路中仍存在有用波束瓣,这使得可通过角度组合器或波束成形器提升链路可用性与数据传输速率。本研究结果可为通过纳入传播约束条件实现的物理层(PHY)或网络模拟器的精准校准提供参考,同时也可用于验证理论研究的相关结论。
