Hot springs are one of the least studied ecosystems in our country with regard to microbial life. To study the microbial diversity of two alkaline and mesophilic hot springs located in Odisha,India we used metagenomics to monitor the microbial communities in these aquatic environment. Populations within the community were monitored both at genus and species level.
