De novo assembly and annotation of transcriptomes of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella

To get a better understanding of the molecular bases of the diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella, a destructive pest of cruciferous plants worldwide. We sequenced, assembled, annotated, and analyzed the first DBM transcriptome using short reads generated by Solexa sequencing from samples of four different developmental stages and two insecticide-resistant strains.
