The multidrug resistant, AmpC- and ESBL-producer Enterobacter hormeichei strain EH37 was isolated from a dog urine sample with a fatal post surgical Urinary Tract infection. Since EH37 belonged to the potential high risk clone ST114 reported in humans, this clinical case raises concerns about the potential transfer of E. hormaechei from animals to humans.
