Salivary metagenome profiling of Sjögren's syndrome patients and healthy controls

This study investigates the salivary microbiome in Sjögren's syndrome, a chronic autoimmune disease affecting exocrine glands. Using shotgun metagenomic sequencing, we analyzed saliva samples from 88 female patients with Sjögren's syndrome and 56 healthy female controls. The dataset provides comprehensive taxonomic and functional profiling of the oral microbiome to identify microbial dysbiosis patterns associated with this autoimmune condition.
