RNA sequencing of single cells from the midline posterior extremity in planarian Schmidtea mediterranea

RNA sequencing of single cells from the midline posterior tip of the tail and posterior blastema in planarian Schmidtea mediterranea identified new posterior-pole enriched genes RNA sequencing was performed on wnt1+ and wnt- single muscle cells (collagen+) from the midline tail tips in uninjured animals and the midline posterior blastemas in regenerating animals 72-hours after transverse amputation, and gene expression of posterior pole cells (wnt1+; collagen+) was compared with that of non-posterior pole muscle cells (wnt1-; collagen+) to identify genes differentially expressed in the posterior pole.
