A cross-sectional study on fecal shedding of Salmonella among cow-calf herds in the southeastern U.S.

Cross-sectional surveys are essential for identifying emerging and re-emerging pathogens. While cattle are well-known reservoirs of Salmonella, few studies have reported the isolation of the emerging atypical H2S-negative strains from bovine sources. In this study, an H2S-negative Salmonella Typhimurium was isolated from cattle feces.
