National death index (NDI)

The National Death Index (NDI) was developed to be a centralized database of death record information compiled from state vital statistics offices to aid epidemiologists and other health and medical investigators with their mortality ascertainment activities. It provides the public health and medical research community access to mortality follow-up information on their study participants, without having to go from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
