Poor sleep impairs immune responses and influenza vaccine protection

This project investigates how sleep fragmentation affects the immune response to influenza vaccination in mice. Using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), spleen cells from vaccinated mice were profiled under two conditions: with and without sleep fragmentation. The dataset reveals differences in cellular composition and gene expression patterns linked to immune activation and memory formation. Findings suggest that disrupted sleep weakens both the magnitude and quality of immune responses, potentially compromising the efficacy of influenza vaccination.
