资源简介:
Choosiness, or how picky an individual is in mate choice, is key to both sexual selection and speciation. Yet the amount of phenotypic variation in choosiness and how that variation is partitioned among individuals remains largely unexplored. Here, using the Pacific field cricket Teleogryllus oceanicus, we dissect preference for two song traits, proportion of long chirp and interpulse interval. We subsequently quantify phenotypic variation in choosiness and investigate whether there is consistent individual variation in choosiness and whether choosiness for different song traits covaries. Strikingly, we found that the overall shape and peak preference for the proportion of long chirps remained similar to those reported in an earlier study from the same population more than a decade ago, providing evidence that directional sexual selection can be relatively stable over long time frames in wild populations. Further, we found moderate levels of within-individual repeatability in choosiness..., , , # Teleogryllus choosiness data

## Description of the data and file structure
* **The Excel file (Teleo_pref_resp_all_12-18-24)** contains original behavioral data (in which missing data is represented as \".\" and not determined data is given as n/a) and the metadata from the experiment. This file includes two tabs:
**Data**: include all original data
**Header decoder**: contains an explanation for the columns in the data tab
- **Teleogryllus choosiness supplementary Material v.2.pdf** contains supplementary methods and figures
* **Table S1** contains parameter values for the simulated songs used in the behavioral trials
* **Table S2** contains number of females and trials included in the two methods of analyses
- **Table S3** contains repeatability as measured by intraclass correlation (ICC) coefficient and standard error of female response at each stimulus for two song traits using the permiss...,
