Beyond the 15-Minute City: A Review and Comparison of Accessibility Planning Concepts

Overview This dataset contains the complete working materials underlying the scoping review Beyond the 15-Minute City: A Review and Comparison of Accessibility Planning Concepts. It documents every stage of the review - record screening, data extraction, concept identification, and the synthesis of reported limitations - at the level of individual records, so that each figure and table in the article can be traced back to the source publications supporting it. The review examines how accessibility has been conceptualised across planning models, identifying 21 accessibility-based planning concepts from 33 included publications and analysing them through the dimensions of place, transport mode, and people. Method The review follows the PRISMA extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR; Tricco et al., 2018) and the screening was managed in Rayyan (Ouzzani et al., 2016). Of 2,237 records screened, 135 proceeded to full-text assessment and 33 were included. A further 57 records were identified through reference lists and source tracking of concepts named in the included papers. Holds verbatim quotations on how each source defines accessibility, which planning concepts it engages, and how it treats time, together with the coding of each source against the analytical framework. Section_4_Limitations.xlsx — Traces every limitation reported in the literature from the sentence stating it through to the synthesised statement published in the article. Seventy-three discrete limitations were extracted, clustered by scope and type, and consolidated into 26 synthesis rows across four categories: structural, methodological and operational, contextual, and behavioural. Section_5_Concept_Identification+Comparison.xlsx — The 21 accessibility-based planning concepts, with originating author, period of origin or peak influence, summary, and primary sources, alongside a matrix comparing the concepts against the framework dimensions. Using the dataset Each workbook opens with a README sheet describing its contents, column definitions, and conventions. Records are keyed throughout by their Rayyan identifier, which is carried unchanged across all four files, allowing the sheets to be joined into a single record-level dataset.
