资源简介:
The paper Williams, RG, Ceppi PA and Katavouta, A (2020) “Controls of the Transient Climate Response to Emissions by physical feedbacks, heat uptake, and carbon cycling”, Environmental Research Letters uses the following data input files and produces the following output data files for 9 CMIP6 and 7 CMIP5 models: 1. The input data files Forcing_feedback_CMIP5.nc and Forcing_feedback_CMIP6.nc contain annual timeseries of global-mean surface temperature, radiative forcing F and radiative response R (such that the net radiative imbalance N = F + R). The radiative response R is decomposed into components due to individual feedback processes (Planck, lapse rate, relative humidity, clouds, surface albedo), using CAM5 radiative kernels. 2. The input data files Global_Carbon_1pctCO2_CMIP5.nc and Global_Carbon_1pctCO2_CMIP6.nc contain annual timeseries under 1%CO2 increase for the cumulative carbon emission and the global change in the atmospheric, land and ocean carbon inventories relative to the pre-industrial (i.e., before CO2 emissions) such that (DIatmos+DIocean+DIland=Iem). 3. The output files Global_1pctCO2_diagnostics_CMIP5.nc and Global_1pctCO2_diagnostics_CMIP6.nc contain annual timeseries from year 20 to 140 after the pre-industrial (i.e., since the beginning of CO2 increase) for the TCRE and its components used in our diagnostic, figures and tables. A moving average filter with a 10 year window has been used to smooth DR, DF, N and DT timeseries before the estimates of these variables to remove inter-annual variability.
