Anti-interlekin-4 effects on broiler cecal eukaryotic communities during coccidiosis

The avian disease coccidiosis due to Eimeria spp. infection is responsible for significant annual economic losses for the global poultry industry. Dietary antibodies can be designed to modulate host immune responses against Eimeria to preserve bird health during coccidiosis challenge. In this study, antibodies against interleukin-4, a cytokine produced by the host, were designed and evaluated during Eimeria challenge. 18S amplicon sequencing was conducted to evaluate Eimeria relative abundance in the cecal digesta.
