Anthropocene effect on the abundance of Insects in danby grassland

the experiment was carried out on Danby grassland in York university, keeele campus. It was carried out on two seperate days ,and was in a group of Stanley , Bryson, Naduni and sharan.The first experiment was on the 13th of october 2015,. It started around 2,50 pm and it was a very windy and cloudy day with overcast and a temperature of about 15 degrees celsius. But at the end of the experiment the temperature had dropped to about 11 degrees celsius.The other experiment was carried out by the same group on the 20th of october ,2015.. It was a rainy day with cloudy day with overcast and tepmperature of about 12 degree celsius. The purpose of the experiment was to determine was to channel our knowledege on the different sampling technique towards the design of a new filed experiment. In doing so a primary purpose was created aiming at determing the effect of anthropocene on Insect abundance in danby grassland by studying how the distance and number of garbage effect the insect abundance. The type of insects and the size of garbage were not taken into consideration. The hypothesis is that distance and the number of garbage will affact the abundance of insects . It predicts that increase in distance will increase abunadance of insects and increase in the garbage will discrease abundance of insects The first experiment was carried out by using line transect and sweep net. A 30meter transect tape was laid on the garssland in an edge in the begining of the grassland closer to the residence . It was laid 5 steps way to the right of the grassland and each 5m was marked indicating a sample interval.ie 1-5, 5-10-10-15,15-20,20-25,25-30 m respectively The sweep net was used to catch insects along the 5m interval for 2 minutes walking back and forth.The experiment was carried out in each interval and the number of garbage is recorded .The number of insect of caught was also recorded.and the insects were set free.This process continued till the transect tape got to the end and location was changed . The process was reapeated and data recorded. A total of 6 group each consisted of 6 intervals were carried out and recorded. The second experiment took place on the 20th of october , 2015 in the same location at about 2.55pm at the other edge of the grassland far away from the residence the same procedure was carried out. However in this case the transect was laid 5 steps away to the left, The 6 datasets collected on that day were recordedmaking a total of 12 group deta set .The total replicate for the two experiments were 72 ie 1-37. 37-72. Group 1 . total number of insect 7, and garbage 21 for example
