Chemical measurements of the McBales ice core collected from Greenland, 1534 to 2003 CE

This glaciochemical dataset is for the McBales ice core that was collected near Summit, Greenland in 2003. The ~137 m-long ice core spans 1534 to 2003 CE and was dated using multi-parameter annual layer counting constrained by volcanic synchronization to well-established Greenland ice-core chronologies. The McBales ice core was analyzed using the continuous flow analysis system at the Desert Research Institute. Black carbon was measured using a Single Particle Soot Photometer, ammonium was measured using fluorometric methods, and sulfur and sodium were measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS).
