Unveiling symbiotic bacterial communities in insect pests feeding on the latex-rich plant Ficus microcarpa

In this study, 16S DNA amplicon high-throughput sequencing approach was used to assess the entire bacterial communities of different kinds of insects from the same plant lineage. Then the influence of insect phylogeny and diet on the symbiotic bacterial diversity of these insects was explored.
