In the present study, we performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing to assess differences between the compositions and abundance of the gut microbiota in individuals with multiple kidney stones and healthy individuals from Southern China. We demonstrated structural segregation of gut microbiota between kidney stones patiens and healthy subjects, which suggested that patients with kidney stones have their own characteristic gut microbiota.
