This series of valuation and rate books from the Illabo Shire Council records the valuation of properties as assessed, and the subsequent payment of rates by property owners. Each year, local councils were required to set the level of, and collect rates in respect of all rateable properties within the municipal or shire district.This series consists of the following information: the name, address and occupation of the owner and the occupier; the situation, area or dimensions of the land; the unimproved capital value; the amount payable; and the rates payed, including any arrears.
