This study examined the fitness effects of the Nematode Specific Peptide family, group F (NSPF) gene family in Caenorhabditis elegans. We used experimental evolution to compete the wildtype allele (i.e., native gene presence) against a deletion allele (i.e., a knockout of all NSPF genes) in 10 replicate obligate-outcrossing populations. Amplicon sequence data was collected at generations 11 and 20 for each of the 10 populations.
