Data collected for the publication entitled: "New catalytic carrier inspired by the fish gills: experimental and CFD study" - publication under review. The description of the file contents is in the attached README file. The dataset consist of the following files:README.txtA.zipB.zipC.zipD.zipExperimental_data.zipThe article describes a new type of structured catalytic support whose shape was inspired by fish gills (the respiratory organ of fish). These biological structures were chosen due to their great specific furface area and excellent heat transfer properties. These are desirable characteristics for catalytic support. Based on the analysis of the gill structure and the fluid flow, 4 new CAD geometries were developed. They were called GSCs - "Gill-like structured carriers". The transport and flow properties of each of them were thoroughly investigated using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). Additionally, one of the geometries was then 3D printed using the SLM technique and experimentally investigated. The analyses conducted indicate intense heat transport for all GSCs. Additionally, it has been shown that Nusselt number values can be increased through modifications to the GSC geometry.The deposited data were collected as part of the NCN PRELUDIUM research project entitled: "Catalytic carriers inspired by the shape of fish gills" (Project No. 2023/49/N/ST8/00819).
