A metagenomic fosmidic library was constructed using feces collected from dromedary living in Tunisian desert. Clones were tested for their ability to degrad plant biomass. two selected clones (26H3 and 36A23) were suggested to a high thoughput sequencing. Read assembly resulted in one large contig for each clone containing gene clusters whose products could be involved in the degradation of lignocellulosic biomass.
