Sodium nitroprussiate protects HFD-induced gut dysfunction via activating AMPK alpha/SIRT1 signalling

This study investigated the difference of high fat diet (HFD) and normal diet (ND) gut microbiota And whether SNP had effects on gut microbiota dysbiosis of HFD mice.HFD had distinct effects on composition of gut microbiota while SNP treatment also modulated composition of gut microbiota. At the genus level, HFD significantly reduced the relative abundance of Lactobacillus and increased the relative abundance of Paraprevotella, Prevotella and Helicobacter, whereas SNP reversed the HFD caused changes of these microbes.
