This work constitutes a spatiotemporal analysis of sediment microbial distribution from Sao Francisco River headwaters section was conducted using Illumina 16S rRNA-V4 region amplicon sequencing. Sao Francisco River headwaters section represents a typical forest-rural-urban landscape from the Brazilian Cerrado biome which constitutes a suitable biological system to study impacts of human practices on riverbed ecosystems.
