资源简介:
The EPA Ozone Atlas provides 1-hour ambient air ozone data collected in Region
6 ( Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.) over the past ten
years.
Ozone is a secondary pollutant that is not directly emitted into the
atmosphere. Rather, it is formed by complex chemical reactions when nitrogen
oxides produced by combustion sources react with hydrocarbons in the presence
of sunlight to form ozone. The most favorable meteorological conditions for the
formation of ozone occurs with stagnant air conditions resulting from a high
pressure system with elevated temperatures and mild to calm wind speeds. These
conditions typically occur in the summer months throughout most areas of the
United States.
