1) This database includes serial number (ID), reference sources (Citations), plant type (community or species), species, lifespan (annuals or perennials), functional groups (grasses, forbs), precipitation treatment methods (increase or decrease), precipitation phase (snow, water), precipitation intensity, biomass type, treatment year, aridity index (AI), as well as sample size, mean, and standard deviation of treatment and control groups. 2) The data is sourced from literatues of Web of Science (WOS, www.webofscience. com) and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI, www.cnki. net), extracted directly or using WebPlot Digitizer tool. 3) Good data quality. 4) This database can be used to conduct research on the response of grassland biomass in the northern mid- to high-latitudes to precipitation changes in the context of climate change.
