This repository contains the experimental data and MATLAB code used in the publication:Stockinger, C.; Pruiti, N. G.; Tribaldo, I.; Eismann, J. S.; Sorel, M.; Banzer, P."Passive Silicon Nitride On-Chip Polarimetry: Precise Polarization Detection with Imperfect Components"The dataset documents the calibration and operation of a passive silicon nitride on-chip polarimeter and includes both calibration measurements and demonstration polarization measurements.Repository contents:• Data_Calibration Contains calibration data recorded during liquid crystal variable retarder (LCVR) voltage sweeps. Includes camera images (.tiff), applied LCVR voltages (LCs_Volt_StrCalibrationVolts.txt), and integrated output intensity values (output-intensity.txt). These data are used to determine calibration parameters of the polarimeter.• Data_Demonstration_Meas Contains experimental measurement data used to demonstrate polarization detection performance using the calibrated polarimeter.• PIC_Polarimeter_Calibration.m MATLAB script used to process calibration data and determine calibration parameters.• Measure_Polarization_PIC.m MATLAB script used to reconstruct polarization states using the calibrated system.• mArrow3.m Auxiliary MATLAB function used for visualization and graphical output.All raw TIFF images are included to enable reproducibility of the calibration and polarization measurement workflow.To reproduce the analysis:1. Run PIC_Polarimeter_Calibration.m to compute calibration parameters.2. Run Measure_Polarization_PIC.m to reconstruct polarization states using measurement data.Required software:MATLAB (R2020a or newer recommended) Image Processing Toolbox (if required)Important note on LCVR calibration:The voltage values provided in this dataset correspond to the specific liquid crystal variable retarders (LCVRs) used in the experiments reported in the associated publication. Voltage-retardance relationships of LCVRs are device-specific and depend on factors such as temperature, wavelength, and individual device characteristics.Therefore, the voltage values included in this dataset should not be expected to produce identical retardance values when different LCVRs are used. Users intending to reproduce the experimental setup must perform calibration of their own LCVRs prior to use.The calibration data provided here document the calibration procedure used in this work and support reproducibility of the data analysis workflow.This dataset is provided to support transparency, verification, and reuse of the methods described in the associated publication.
