U.S. gaming device preference among teens and adults 2024

As of January 2024, the most popular gaming device across age groups in the United States was smartphones or mobile devices, with 49 percent of adults and half of teenagers using them to play games at least once every month. Desktops and laptops were also popular, being used by 30 percent of adult gamers and 43 percent of teen gamers monthly. In contrast, the Microsoft Xbox Series S console was used by less than one in ten teens and less than one in 20 adults among gamers in the United States.
