Observation of birds along a transect

For this transect, a random starting point was selected. From this point, 100 steps were taken in a straight, random path in a three minute period. During this three minute period, all the birds that were observed were recorded. Birds were recorded by its species, the number of birds in each species that were observed, as well as the estimated distance from transect to the bird. Binoculars were used to get a closer look at the birds to identify them. And those that could not be identified were labeled as unknown. This whole process was replicated for a total of three times.
