资源简介:
Eleven pollen samples were selected for analysis from three sites
(48CA468, 48CA561, and 48CA566) on the AMAX Eagle Butte Mine near
Gillette in central Campbell County, Wyoming. These samples were taken
stratigraphically within the sites in an effort to gather paleoenvironmental
data. The sites are located on terraces above a complex of intermittent
drainages at elevations ranging from 4200 to 4240 feet. Site 48CA468
appears to have Late Paleoindian and Archaic components, while 48CA561
and 48CA562 have evidence of Middle Archaic, Late Archaic, and Late
Prehistoric occupation.
