This research work focused on the goal to genetically engineer hydrocarbon degrading microbiome, generate recombinant catechol-2,3-dioxygenase and biosurfactants for degradation of aromatic hydrocarbons. It shall have relevance in the application of eco-friendly recombinant catechol-2,3-dioxygenase, biosurfactants and bacteria cells, as petroleum cleaning agents, to bio-remediate contaminated sites at a more cost-effective rate.
