This dataset, named Ganga Basin Water Pollution Dataset, was jointly developed by IBM Research India and the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. It contains both quantitative and qualitative data, primarily sourced from real-time sensors, laboratory test results, and public estimates collected via mobile applications. Spanning over 60 sites across the Ganga Basin in India, the dataset has a total of 10,693 data points. Multiple data collection methods were employed during its development, including on-site sampling, laboratory testing, and crowdsourced data gathered through mobile applications. This dataset is primarily designed to study the spatiotemporal impacts of large-scale religious events on water quality, such as the 2016 Ardh Kumbh Mela, with the aim of helping relevant authorities manage similar events and plan future gatherings.
