资源简介:
Mycobacterium abscessus (Mab) is an opportunistic pathogen capable of causing infection in immunocompromised individuals and individuals with pre-existing lung disease. The cystic fibrosis (CF) population is particularly vulnerable due to compromised innate immune defenses and thick viscous mucus preventing clearance of the disease. Within the CF lung millieu Mab encounters hypoxic stress which must be counteracted via alterations in gene regulation. To date, little is known regarding mechanisms utilized for Mab adaptation in hypoxic environments. This study aims to identify the importance of the two-component system Mab DosRS and genes utilized in hypoxic adaptation.
