Downtown Galesburg Snow Emergency Parking

Depending on conditions, the City of Galesburg has several planned responses to winter snow and ice: Light Frost on Bridges - All bridges are treated with either granular salt or liquid salt solution anytime the street temperature is below freezing. Heavy Frost / Freezing Rain, Sleet or Drizzle / Snow Accumulations Less than 2 Inches - All bridges and major streets are salted when they become icy. Intersections of residential streets are salted. Residential streets are not salted. No streets are plowed. Snow Accumulation of 2 Inches or More - A Snow Emergency is declared and all State routes and major streets are plowed and salted. Intersections of residential streets with major streets are salted. Residential streets are not salted. Residential streets will be plowed after major streets are cleared. Parking is prohibited on ALL City streets outside the Central Business District for up to 12 hours and cars may be ticketed and towed. This map identifies the various levels of allowable parking in the Central Business District during a declared Snow Emergency.
